Professor Yowler (then Butler) joined the Valparaiso University Faculty in 2013 as the Library Fellow- Visiting Assistant Professor of Library Services. Prior to arriving at Valparaiso, Professor Butler was the Reference Intern at Northwestern University's Schaffner Library. She is the co-liaison for Philosophy, Theology and Gender Studies. Professor Butler is also an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well as an advocate within the LGBTQ community. Her primary research interests are in Theological Librarianship and depictions of God in religious children's literature.

Other Interests
Professor Yowler loves to read and do crafty things such as knitting and baking, but when the weather is nice she prefers to be out on a motorcycle exploring the twists and turns of the countryside. Additionally, she is a figure skater and, when time allows, she skates with a synchronized figure skating team.
